SKAL Club of London
The SKAL Club of London is part of an international professional organization of tourism leaders dedicated to fostering global tourism and friendship. SKAL is the only international group that unites all branches of the tourism and travel industry. The London chapter created an award in memory of Jack Docherty, who was a founding member of the chapter in 1975. Docherty’s positive work ethic, dedication to his family and volunteer commitments were characteristics the Chapter wished to encourage in future members of the tourism and travel community.
Impact
The SKAL International London Award is presented to a second-year student in Fanshawe’s Tourism – Travel program who demonstrates that he/she is a strong worker, outgoing and willing to volunteer his/her time while applying a consistent effort in academics throughout the program.
