Elinor Schwob

Elinor Schwob established an award in 2010 to honour her mother, Janet Rourke Schwob, a registered nurse who dedicated over 40 years to the profession. Janet trained at St. Joseph’s Hospital London and worked in many aspects of nursing, from neonatal care to serving as team nurse for the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes and NHL’s Montreal Canadiens. She was caring for military veterans at Parkwood Hospital when she retired.

Impact

The Janet Rourke Schwob RN Compassion Award recognizes a full-time student Nursing (Collaborative Degree) student who displays compassion, an interest to learn and a desire to work in one of the following areas: long-term care, palliative unit, nursing home or hospice care facility.
